TGIF {41}: Authors Are Our Celebrities (No. Really?)

Authors Are Our Celebrities: Have you ever contacted an author you admired? How did that experience go?  If not, which author would you love to have a chat with?

I have contacted a few! I contacted Susane Colasanti last fall and had the amazing opportunity of interviewing her on the blog (you can see that interview here), and meeting her at BEA. She remembered me and if so sweet! And today Leigh Bardugo, who is so sweet and fantastic! I also interviewed Anna Banks who is fantabulous and hilarious, (interview here), and Aimee Agresti who is so awesome. (Interview here)

Over Twitter I tweeted a bit with Ilsa J. Bick (EEP LIKE CRAZY!) who I absolutely adore. Her books are so fantastic, even though they are a bit frightening at times, they are so…. I can’t even describe them. Just go read them.

I really want to email Melina Marchetta. I’m not sure how I will do this. I’ll probably end up writing a super duper long email that I write ten drafts of, so I should probably start working on that…

I’ve met so many amazing authors in person that I wanted to scream and yell! Tahereh Mafi, John Green, Rachel Cohn, David Levithan, Veronica Roth, Maggie Stiefvater, and Libba Bray to name a few. Authors are totally my celebrities. It’s a bit insane.

Who are your celebs in the author world? I want to know about them!

  1. I met Jenny Han at ATBF last year, and she told me I looked like Sarah Dessen. I’m not sure if that’s true, but I had so much fun!! I’m pretty sure I would be speechless in front of J.K. Rowling or Melina Marchetta…or mumbling incomprehensible things….

Thanks for stopping by! All spam/mean/rude comments will be deleted.
